Re-member Me

by Ravin McKelvy

Re-member me

Do you not know

Healing begins

Where the wound

Was first made

Trace the vein of our history

So we may know why our present

Is stained red

Our justice is fragmented

Unable to be whole

Until you re-member me

So we speak of our past

Not to keep cycles running

But to break the cyclical system

That renames the chains

Left unbroken

Broken are we

In pieces and misunderstanding

Floating members

Of a forgotten history

Re-member me

So that healing may begin
